This society has been going about 2 years. It is a successor to The Lancashire Dialect Society. It has over 100 members. The society publishes , by email, a newsletter called Palatine People. The latest issue came out today, 2/9/10. and contains some interesting items. Amngst them is details of a project to study and record the speech of those who live along the geographic line of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. The project, called "The Noise We Mek" is looking for people willing to talk about their bit of Lancashire and be recorded.

On Thursday 7th October, 7-9pm, there will bve a meeting, in Blackburn Library. Part of the time will be taken up with a play about the project. Get thisel' deawn theer.

I would like to find my friend Sandra Heap, who lived at Rising Bridge. She has/ had a sister called Margaret. Any information would be happily received, the last I heard was that she lived in Cherry Tree, Blackburn. I do not know her married name!

does anybody know where Primrose Hill is / was in Blackburn ? i know of the one in Mellor area , but there was another street called Primrose Hill in Blackburn itself

well at last we won a proper pre-season match (Fleetwood & Southport can't count) ... lets hope they get a bit of a rest before heading north of the border for the double-bill against Hearts and Celtic.
